PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Shawcross (ranked 8439 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Bombardo (ranked 9817 p4p, 0 weight class). Bombardo comes into a darkened arena with his song building. All of the lights kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ryan Shawcross!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Cain Bombardo!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Richard Clark and Paul Tew.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shawcross shoots in and drives through. Bombardo sprawls well.
Shawcross tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bombardo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Shawcross somewhat.
Bombardo tries to clinch but Shawcross moves out of range.
Bombardo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Shawcross paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Cain Bombardo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bombardo throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Shawcross sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Shawcross throws a sloppy head kick and Bombardo moves out of range easily.
Shawcross changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bombardo tries to avoid it but Shawcross manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bombardo to the ground. Bombardo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Bombardo! But no joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryan Shawcross. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice defenses there by Shawcross.
Bombardo wants to clinch up but Shawcross keeps it at a distance.
Bombardo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice takedown defense from Bombardo. No joy for Shawcross on that attempt.
Shawcross looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Shawcross shoots in looking for a takedown but Bombardo manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Shawcross's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Shawcross blocks a head kick by Bombardo.
A head kick from Bombardo lands but Shawcross takes it in his stride.

It looks like Ryan Shawcross has been cut.

Bombardo misses with an uppercut. Shawcross saw that one coming.

Bombardo tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Shawcross counters with a left and a right that stings Bombardo.
Shawcross closes the distance and clinches up with Bombardo, looking for a takedown. Shawcross pushes Bombardo against the cage but Bombardo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Shawcross circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bombardo lands a nice hook to Shawcross's body. Shawcross takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Shawcross misses with a head kick.
Shawcross is breathing heavily.
Bombardo doesn't manage to clinch there - Shawcross circles away.
Bombardo throws a head kick but Shawcross moves out of range.
Shawcross misses with a kick to the body
and Bombardo counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Shawcross forces Bombardo back against the cage and clinches.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Shawcross is trying to break the clinch but Bombardo is controlling him.
Shawcross keeps control of Bombardo as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shawcross is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Bombardo gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Bombardo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Bombardo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bombardo lands a brutal head kick. Shawcross looks out on his feet and Bombardo throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
