Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Malaki Lima (ranked 2639 p4p, 274 weight class) and Terunari Kagiyama (ranked 2753 p4p, 285 weight class). Lima's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Tupac - Hail Mary. Malaki Lima has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Malaki Lima! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Terunari Kagiyama! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice cross by Lima. Kagiyama bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Kagiyama slips a straight right by Lima. Kagiyama ducks under a wild hook from Lima. Lima throws out a loose jab but Kagiyama uses good head movement to avoid it. Kagiyama misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lima.
Kagiyama throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Malaki Lima seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lima with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kagiyama to score with a decent uppercut. Lima looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Kagiyama moves away from the strike by Lima. Lima lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Lima throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kagiyama sees it coming and avoids it easily. Lima tests Kagiyama's chin there with a solid looking shot. Lima wants to clinch. Kagiyama lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lima takes the fight into the clinch. Kagiyama wants the takedown. Lima is fighting it off but Kagiyama persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Lima's guard against the cage. Lima pulls Kagiyama in close to his closed guard and prevents Kagiyama from doing any damage or advancing position. Kagiyama avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Lima is looking for a sweep. Kagiyama is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Lima makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Lima. Kagiyama won't allow Lima to sweep him here. Kagiyama throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Lima working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kagiyama doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kagiyama manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Lima wants to sweep here but Kagiyama controlling him for the moment. Kagiyama trying to control but Lima is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kagiyama is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Lima is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kagiyama throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lima works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Lima wants to sweep but no luck. Kagiyama trying to control but Lima is working from the bottom. Lima working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kagiyama doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kagiyama manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Lima wants to sweep but no luck. Kagiyama stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lima swivels though and keeps the full guard. Lima lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Lima trying to control but Kagiyama is working from the bottom. Lima is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Lima trying to control but Kagiyama is working from the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Malaki Lima will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Lima clinches up against the cage. Kagiyama gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Lima looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kagiyama is one step ahead there. Kagiyama trying to control the position from guard on top but Lima is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kagiyama throws a strike but Lima rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Lima postures up in Kagiyama's guard and throws a big left but Kagiyama blocks it. Lima wants to control from the top but Kagiyama keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lima working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Lima tries to free his leg and advance position but Kagiyama is retaining full guard. Lima advances position into side control! Kagiyama is trying to improve his position. Kagiyama is letting Lima control him for a moment. Lima trying to control the position but Kagiyama is working away. Lima lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kagiyama avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Lima. Kagiyama prevents Lima from moving into mount. Lima trying to control the action but Kagiyama is working from the bottom. Lima working away. Lima working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Lima tries to advance to mount but Kagiyama denies him. An elbow from Lima crashes against the mat.
Lima is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Kagiyama will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kagiyama prevents Lima from moving into mount. Kagiyama is not content to let Lima control the position. Kagiyama takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Kagiyama is not content to let Lima control the position. Kagiyama takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lima is looking to take a break and control but Kagiyama is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Lima throwing shots but missing, from side control. Lima is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Kagiyama's shoulder. That is not cool. Kagiyama manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Lima is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kagiyama's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kagiyama's back! Lima scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Kagiyama is looking for a way out. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lima tightening his grip on Kagiyama, looking for the choke. Lima is looking to control Kagiyama but Kagiyama is wriggling around and keeping busy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lima misses with a straight right. Kagiyama jabbing away but nothing is landing. Lima is looking to counter punch. Kagiyama connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Kagiyama thows a left - swing and a miss! Kagiyama looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Lima throws out a loose jab but Kagiyama uses good head movement to avoid it. Kagiyama misses with an uppercut. Donk. Lima catches Kagiyama right on the button with a cross. Kagiyama takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Lima moves into the clinch. Lima is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lima tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Lima lands a hook that snaps the head of Kagiyama backwards. Lima lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Kagiyama. Lima manages to pull guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kagiyama content to stall in guard here. Lima wants to sweep here but Kagiyama controlling him for the moment. Kagiyama wants to control from the top but Lima keeps moving. Lima throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Lima pushes down on Kagiyama's leg and manages to get into half guard. Lima wants to take a breather but Kagiyama is having none of it. Kagiyama wants to get back to full guard. Kagiyama avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Lima. Kagiyama tries to get to full guard but Lima has control of the leg. Kagiyama wants to control but Lima is keeping busy and won't allow it. Kagiyama is pressing down on Lima's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kagiyama keeping full guard, as Lima tries to pass. Lima is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Lima misses with a wild body shot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Lima tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Kagiyama takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Lima slips under a jab from Kagiyama. An attempted straight right counter from Lima misses the target. Lima cracks Kagiyama with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Kagiyama steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lima. Kagiyama scores with a hook to the body. Lima takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Lima throws a right hand that misses
and Kagiyama counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Kagiyama scoring well with a low kick there.
Kagiyama scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Kagiyama prevents Lima from improving his position. Kagiyama is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lima is just riding it out for now. Kagiyama eventually gives up the hold. Lima gets full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Malaki Lima. Well Lima has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
