The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves shoots in for a takedown but Vinyard shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
A slapping leg kick lands for Vinyard.
Vinyard fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Alves, pushing him back against the cage.
Vinyard scores with a nice hook to the head.

Vinyard makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Oh Alves is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Vinyard throws a big uppercut that drops Alves! More strikes from Vinyard and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Alves lies dazed against the cage as Vinyard celebrates with his cornermen!

A relieved looking Derek Vinyard thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
