Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Elmore James (ranked 1990 p4p, 210 weight class) and Robert Tran (ranked 1826 p4p, 197 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think James might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aMfD2O9Gds. The key to victory for Elmore James has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Elmore James! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Robert Tran! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Bruno Lombardi and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! James drops his hands momentarily and Tran takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. James scores with a shot to the body.
Tran on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Tran uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by James.
Tran appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. James lands a really nice looking cross but Tran seems unphased.
James misses with a looping left. Tran circles away from the clinch attempt.
A big right from James misses. James ducks down and throws a hook to the body. James misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Tran counters with a shoot takedown. James fights it but they end up in guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! James has his hands on Tran's head, controlling the position. Tran with a flurry of punches that miss. Tran wants to control from the top but James keeps moving. James is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at The Devil Dogs that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tran might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control James haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Tran is looking to pass into half guard but James pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now James is in guard. Tran throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tran looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Tran wants to sweep but no luck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. James wants to stand but Tran has a closed guard, so he can't escape. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tran is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. James controlling the position. Tran trying to control the position from guard on top but James is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tran accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Tran trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
That's three minutes gone in the round. James pulls Tran in to control the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Tran throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. James displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Tran throws out the jab. Tran tries for a takedown but James sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Tran takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Elmore James is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. James lands an overhand right. A telegraphed right hand from James misses the target. Tran throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Tran scores with the left hand. James knows he should have avoided that one. Jab, jab by James - just one landing. James tries to clinch up but Tran circles away and keeps his distance. Tran shoots in for a takedown but James shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. James throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Tran sees it coming and avoids it easily. Tran is clearly trying to counter these attacks from James with a body shot. Tran throws a body shot but no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tran swinging wildly here.
James cracks Tran with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! James cracks Tran with a good jab. Elmore James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tran just misses with a punch to the body.
James pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Tran drops down looking to force a counter takedown but James defends it well. Tran throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Tran drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Tran has his takedown stuffed and James counters with a left to the body. Elmore James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert Tran. Tran will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
James misses with a right hand and Tran counters with a nice double leg into guard. James wriggles free and stands up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Elmore James dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Tran drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. James misses with a looping left. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Tran drops his hands momentarily and James takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. James throws a body shot but no joy. Tran on the wrong end of a nice hook. James lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. James bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Tran's head. Tran fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Tran darts in looking for a takedown but James gets double underhooks and turns Tran into the cage. James throwing a counter right hand but Tran manages to avoid it. This has been an exciting period of action! James throws a body punch but Tran moves out of range. Tran throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Tran takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Tran is rocked! and James counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Tran! He's just covering up as James starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Elmore James! During a confident post fight interview, Elmore James thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
