The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lazzarini displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Appi throws out the jab.

Appi bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Appi lands with an overhand left.

Hervoton Appi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Appi moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Appi's jab looks to have found its range, popping Lazzarini under the eye.
Lazzarini takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Lazzarini moves out of range of the strikes.
Lazzarini attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Appi tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lazzarini was well out of range. Poor timing from Appi.
As Appi backs away, Lazzarini returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Appi has managed to clinch.
Lazzarini can't find room to land a body shot as Appi controls the action.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lazzarini connects with a nice cross there... Appi is looking wobbly and Lazzarini recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Appi to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Lazzarini jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
