PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Branden Waller (ranked 6500 p4p, 0 weight class) and Margiris Adamonis (ranked 6496 p4p, 0 weight class). Adamonis has chosen Mick Gordon - Rip & Tear as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Branden Waller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Margiris Adamonis!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Chris Edwards and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Waller shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Waller stops Adamonis from getting back to his feet.
Waller thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Adamonis's head.
Adamonis tries to kick Waller off in order to stand up. Waller Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Adamonis sneaks out the side door and pushes Waller away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Adamonis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Waller fails to land the takedown.
Adamonis throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Waller.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Adamonis closes the distance and pushes Waller back into the cage.

Adamonis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Adamonis moves into range and clinches up with Waller.
Waller is looking to break free of the clinch but Adamonis has double underhooks.
Waller has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Adamonis is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Waller could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Waller has Adamonis pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Adamonis manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Branden Waller. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Waller wants a takedown.
Waller misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Waller pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A left lands for Adamonis.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Adamonis lands with a kick to the temple. Waller shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"


It looks like Branden Waller has been cut.
Waller shoots in but no luck this time.
Adamonis unleashes a big counter combination but Waller bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Adamonis rushes Waller and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Adamonis manages to break the clinch.

A big head kick from Adamonis and Waller is sent sprawling to the canvas!


Waller is rocked!
Adamonis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Waller. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Waller wants to sweep here but Adamonis controlling him for the moment.
Oh Waller is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Waller might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Adamonis gets to his feet. Waller looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Adamonis gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Adamonis manages to break the clinch.

Adamonis gets a clinch.

Adamonis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Adamonis lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Waller falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Margiris Adamonis!
Margiris Adamonis decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
