Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Norman Wood (ranked 25376 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gaston Delgado (ranked 4252 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Norman Wood! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gaston Delgado! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Roger Salmon and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Delgado feints and as Wood raises his hands in defense, Delgado changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Wood is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Delgado dives into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Delgado sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Wood is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Delgado is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Delgado's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wood is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Delgado is controlling him well. Wood dodges the ground and pound from Delgado. Delgado stands up and beckons Wood to his feet. Delgado has Wood up against the cage in a clinch.
Delgado escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Delgado shoots in and gets a takedown into Wood's guard. Delgado is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Delgado is working Wood over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Delgado passes Wood's left leg - he's now in half guard. Delgado content to control rather than advance. Delgado is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Wood!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Delgado has hold of Wood's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Wood manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Wood is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Wood knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Delgado on the ground. Wood takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Delgado's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gaston Delgado!
