Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Janis Ozolins (ranked 5693 p4p, 679 weight class) and Dusty Lesley (ranked 24883 p4p, 972 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Janis Ozolins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dusty Lesley! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Anthony Taglia and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lesley moves in looking to clinch but Ozolins pushes him off. Ozolins misses with a lunging right hand
and Lesley counters with a two punch combo. Ozolins circles away from the clinch attempt.
It appears Ozolins was looking to counter with a kick there. Ozolins circles away from the clinch attempt.
Lesley fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ozolins attempts a counter takedown but Lesley avoids it well and moves away. Lesley with a poor takedown and Ozolins counters with a two punch combo. Lesley dodges the punch combination from Ozolins.
Lesley looks like he wants to counter punch here. Ozolins lands a nice shot that snaps Lesley's head back.
Ozolins takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Lesley scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lesley swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ozolins is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Ozolins throws a lazy head kick and Lesley cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Lesley gets a clinch. Lesley's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Ozolins lets loose with a powerful body kick. Lesley will feel that in the morning.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lesley has Ozolins up against the cage in a clinch.
Lesley prevents Ozolins from breaking the clinch. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Lesley. Ozolins has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Lesley avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Lesley tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Ozolins's elbow. Lesley is stalling here.
Ozolins is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Ozolins tries to circle away but Lesley has him pinned against the cage. Lesley breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lesley swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Ozolins. Ozolins misses with a body punch
and Lesley counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Lesley tries to clinch up but Ozolins circles away and keeps his distance. Ozolins throws a poor cross that misses
and Lesley counters with a straight right hand. Ozolins lands with a straight right. Lesley didn't see that one coming. Lesley has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Lesley connects with a looping right hand.

Ozolins shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lesley pinned against the cage. Lesley gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Ozolins is breathing heavily. This has been an exciting period of action! Lesley lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

The crowd are getting on Lesley's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch. Lesley breaks the clinch.
Lesley has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ozolins's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Lesley connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Ozolins scrambles back to his feet. Ozolins looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Lesley moves in looking to clinch but Ozolins pushes him off. Lesley tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ozolins paws at him with a jab and circles away. Ozolins has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Ozolins shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Ozolins working the head and body with strikes. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lesley can do anything to dispel that myth. Ozolins scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Lesley really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ozolins. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Lesley wants to sweep here but Ozolins controlling him for the moment. Ozolins postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Lesley avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Lesley seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Lesley wants to sweep but no luck. Ozolins throws a big right hand that misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dusty Lesley dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Lesley closes the distance and pushes Ozolins back into the cage. Lesley manages to break the clinch.
Ozolins delivers a nice body kick. Ozolins shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Ozolins was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Ozolins works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Ozolins working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. I wouldn't like to be where Lesley is right now. Ozolins in side control, throwing shots but Lesley defends. Ozolins scores with punches from side control. Ozolins misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ozolins postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lesley takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Ozolins is working Lesley over with some ground and pound from side control.

Janis Ozolins overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Lesley parries the strikes from Ozolins easily there. Ozolins is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Lesley to escape.
Lesley is looking to regain half guard here but Ozolins keeps moving and retains side control. Ozolins cracks Lesley with a big right hand but Lesley just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

The referee takes a look at Lesley to see if he's OK. Lesley is looking for a sweep. Ozolins is putting a hurting on Lesley here, landing some big shots from side control.
