Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Malcom Syndal (ranked 1408 p4p, 152 weight class) and Jordan Tuttle (ranked 3383 p4p, 325 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Malcom Syndal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jordan Tuttle!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Syndal fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Tuttle, pushing him back against the cage.
Tuttle slows down the pace here.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Tuttle's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Syndal keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Tuttle.
An attempted straight right counter from Syndal misses the target.
Syndal scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Tuttle doesn't seem bothered though.

Syndal clinches up against the cage.
Syndal is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Syndal.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Syndal lands a right hand.

Tuttle's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Syndal scores with a hook.
Tuttle has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Malcom Syndal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tuttle avoids the body shot from Syndal.

Syndal tries to clinch up but Tuttle circles away and keeps his distance.
Tuttle looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Syndal moves into the clinch successfully.
Tuttle tries to pull guard but Syndal forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Tuttle manages to break the clinch.

Syndal closes the distance and pushes Tuttle back into the cage.

Tuttle escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Syndal moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Nice jab there from Syndal.

A short right from Syndal on the inside.
Tuttle is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Syndal to keep the fight standing.
Syndal lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Tuttle backwards.

Syndal manages to break the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tuttle misses with a looping left.
Syndal is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Syndal tries to clinch but Tuttle is having none of it.
It seemed like Tuttle was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

A little jabbing left from Tuttle on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Syndal definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Tuttle is pushing Syndal up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Nice body punch from Syndal - that landed with a thud.
Syndal prevents Tuttle from breaking the clinch.

Syndal's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Syndal misses with a body shot.
Tuttle walks into a left hand.

Tuttle tries to keep at a distance but Syndal has taken the fight into the clinch.
Come on Syndal - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Tuttle is trying to force a seperation but Syndal has the dominant position.
Tuttle tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Malcom Syndal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jordan Tuttle.

Tuttle has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Syndal uses from the top position.

Tuttle had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Syndal defends it easily.

Tuttle is looking for a triangle but Syndal pushes his legs off easily.

Tuttle pushes a forearm under Syndal's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Syndal is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jordan Tuttle!
