Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jimmie Nichols! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, David White! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Atkins and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nichols closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Nichols lands in his opponent's guard. Nichols really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Nichols stays in close to White's body and controls the position. White not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Nichols seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. White tries to land a sweep but no joy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. White not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Nichols is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nichols shoots in for a takedown but White shows good takedown defense. White clinches up with Nichols and pushes him back against the cage. White has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. White has hold of one of Nichols's legs. Nichols is fighting the takedown attempt but White gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as White accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Nichols pulls White in close to prevent any damage. Nichols is trying to control the position from the bottom.
White content to stall in guard here. White stands up from Nichols's guard - White perhaps looking for a knockout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. White shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than White was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Nichols struggling a bit here. White trying to control the position but Nichols is working away. White tries to move to mount but Nichols blocks the move with his legs. Nichols is looking to reverse the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nichols is letting White control him for a moment. Nichols is trying to control White's posture but White avoids it. White cracks Nichols with a big right hand but Nichols just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
White working away. White tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. A bit of a lull in the action here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Nichols defending against the ground and pound. Nichols is not content to let White control the position. Nichols trying his best to control but White has mounted him. White seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Nichols is holding on tight.
Nichols holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as White tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
White get's back to his feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! White closes the distance and pushes Nichols back into the cage. Nichols tries to break free but White pushes him back against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
David White dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
White has managed to clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch. White wants to get back to striking at distance but Nichols won't allow it.
Nichols looking for a takedown. Nichols pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Nichols shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with White but White pushes him off and we're back to square one. White scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. White has been the more effective fighter overall so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nichols trying to control but White postures up.
White stands up out of the half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. White shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nichols keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. White wants to control but Nichols is keeping him busy. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
White is working for a kimura but Nichols is defending it quite comfortably.
White is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Nichols manages to get to full guard. White slips nicely into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Nichols wants to control but White is keeping busy and won't allow it. White not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. White controlling the pace. White wants to work for an arm triangle but Nichols is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
White is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Nichols defends it well. Nichols is not content to let White control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. White looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Nichols keeps control of the position for the meantime. White wants to pass the guard but Nichols is defending well.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. White displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Nichols. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmie Nichols. That's going to take a lot out of him. White looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Nichols! Nichols can't do much from the bottom here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nichols tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but White wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. White decides to take the fight back to the feet. White dives in and scores a takedown into Nichols's guard. Nichols trying to control the position.
David White has got the better of the ground game so far. White tries to free his leg and advance position but Nichols is retaining full guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. White wants to control from the top but Nichols keeps moving. Nichols keeping full guard, as White tries to pass. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
David White showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
White manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Nichols on his heels. He'll look to pass Nichols's guard now, I'm sure. White trying to control the position from guard on top but Nichols is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. White might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Nichols haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Nichols not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Nichols is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Still in half guard, White seems content to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. White blocks the strikes from Nichols.
Nichols wants to get back to his feet. Nichols missing with punches from the bottom.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with White in particular looking to stall.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. White throws a push kick but Nichols slaps the foot to one side. White shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Nichols's guard.
Nichols is rocked! White slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Oh Nichols is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! White stands up from Nichols's guard - White perhaps looking for a knockout. White dances in with a quick combination. Nichols is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from White snaps Nichols's head back. Nichols stumbles backwards against the cage. White steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Nichols's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Nichols just didn't come prepared.
