Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sergei Krylov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Derek Pappalardo!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Darius Henderson and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pappalardo throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Krylov on the side of the head.
Pappalardo fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Krylov, pushing him back against the cage.
Krylov is looking for a takedown.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Krylov.
Pappalardo swings wildly with an uppercut but Krylov uses good head movement to avoid it.
Pappalardo gets through Krylov's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Krylov is trying to pull guard but Pappalardo turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Pappalardo fails to land.
Krylov is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Pappalardo is defending well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sergei Krylov. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Krylov wants to take the fight to the mat but Pappalardo manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Pappalardo lands a left hand.
Pappalardo throws a punch but it's blocked by Krylov.

Krylov has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Pappalardo is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Krylov is trying to break the clinch but Pappalardo has him pressed against the cage.

Krylov is trying to maintain a safe position but Pappalardo gets an underhook and turns Krylov into the cage.
Pappalardo gets through Krylov's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Pappalardo lands a nice uppercut.
Krylov is rocked!
Pappalardo creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Krylov's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Krylov drops to his knees and Pappalardo pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Derek Pappalardo!
Derek Pappalardo decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
