Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sheldon Russo (ranked 24724 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lotti Price (ranked 6593 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sheldon Russo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lotti Price!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Columbo Gatti and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Price feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Russo pushes Price off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Price closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Price manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Russo on his heels. He'll look to pass Russo's guard now, I'm sure.

Price is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Russo is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Russo has escaped and now he's on top!

Price has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Russo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Russo passes Price's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Russo perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Russo seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Price is looking to improve his position.
Russo is looking to take a break and control but Price is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Price tries to get to full guard but Russo has control of the leg.

Price is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Russo pulls his head out easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Russo content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Price can do anything to dispel that myth.

Russo takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Price decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Price is looking to pass Russo's guard but actually Russo recovers to full guard.
Price trying to control but Russo is working from the bottom.
Russo throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Price won't allow Russo to sweep him here.

Price stops Russo from standing up.

Russo looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Russo has a closed guard, preventing Price from standing up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Price shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Price was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Russo wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sheldon Russo dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Price shoots in and bounces Russo off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Price working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Russo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Russo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Price is breathing heavily.

Price has his foot on Russo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Russo works his way back into a safe position though.
Russo stays in close to Price's body and controls the position.

Price has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Russo doesn't defend quickly enough and Price has managed to lock this one up! Can Russo escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Price on a fantastic submission victory.
