Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ed Frettish (ranked 3744 p4p, 189 weight class) and Zackary Finyard (ranked 3914 p4p, 196 weight class). Finyard has chosen Your pussy's glued to a building on fire as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ed Frettish!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zackary Finyard!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Seu Braga and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Finyard shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Finyard was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Finyard is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
You can see the frustration on Frettish's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Finyard cracks Frettish with a big right hand but Frettish just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Finyard tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Finyard has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Finyard wants to lay and pray for a moment but Frettish keeps working.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Finyard tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Finyard wants to control but Frettish is keeping him busy.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Frettish takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Frettish takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Frettish keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Frettish gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Frettish can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Finyard controls the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Frettish misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Finyard.
A looping hook to the body misses from Frettish. Finyard does a little dance to reset his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Finyard shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Frettish sprawls well. Frettish wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Finyard gets slowly back to his feet.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Finyard. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Finyard decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Finyard wants to work for an arm triangle but Frettish is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Finyard is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Finyard slows the pace down in half guard.
Frettish blocking the ground and pound attempt from Finyard.
Finyard has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Finyard is keen to just control but Frettish is a slippery customer.
Zackary Finyard has got the better of the ground game so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Finyard thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Frettish's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Finyard not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Finyard is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Frettish doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Finyard.
Frettish knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Finyard on the ground.

Finyard is trying to control the action in half guard but Frettish is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Frettish loads up on a big right hand but Finyard slips the punch.
Finyard replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Frettish blocks it well.
Finyard walks into a jab.
Frettish misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Finyard.
No luck for Finyard with that takedown attempt.

Frettish throws an overhand right that lands on Finyard's shoulder, as Finyard tries to avoid the shot.

and Frettish counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zackary Finyard showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Finyard postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Frettish is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Finyard, into his guard.

Finyard doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Finyard wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Finyard is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Finyard throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Zackary Finyard is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Finyard slows the pace down in half guard.
Finyard is looking to take a break and control but Frettish is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Finyard wants to free his trapped foot but Frettish is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Ed Frettish has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Zackary Finyard is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Finyard's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A looping hook to the body misses from Frettish. Finyard does a little dance to reset his feet.

Zackary Finyard comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Finyard winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
