Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Mick Bison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fedor Emelianenko!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelianenko checks a leg kick.
Bison drops his hands momentarily and Emelianenko takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
It looks like Mick Bison has been cut.
Bison misses with a series of wild punches.
Sloppy strikes from Bison. Those never looked like landing.
Emelianenko tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bison defends well and Emelianenko ends up having to push Bison into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Bison ducks right into an uppercut from Emelianenko.
Emelianenko moves out of range as Bison strikes.
Bison pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Emelianenko shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bison manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Emelianenko won't allow Bison to get back to his feet.
Emelianenko throwing strikes from guard but Bison blocks nicely.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Emelianenko's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Emelianenko is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Bison is rocked!
Mick Bison's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Mick Bison's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Fedor Emelianenko!
An out of breath Fedor Emelianenko thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
