Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Emelienko (ranked 78 p4p, 16 weight class) and Randy Springs (ranked 40 p4p, 10 weight class). Springs has chosen Meltdown as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
24 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vladimir Emelienko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
28 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randy Springs! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Springs thows a leg kick but Emelienko checks it and Emelienko counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Springs wants to land a leg kick but Emelienko is out of range. Emelienko fires out a quick counter leg kick but Springs just manages to avoid it. Springs thows a leg kick but Emelienko checks it and Emelienko cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Springs dips to his left and cracks Emelienko with an uppercut! Emelienko throws a leg kick but Springs sees it coming and checks it nicely. Emelienko displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Springs throws out the jab. An attempted straight right counter from Emelienko misses the target. Springs fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Nice cross by Springs. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Emelienko checks a leg kick. We've been told by Emelienko's head coaches at Runts Academy that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A big right from Springs misses. As Springs backs away, Emelienko returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Springs throws a leg kick and Emelienko connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Emelienko walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Springs throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Emelienko to counter with a crisp jab.

Emelienko seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Springs connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Springs scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Emelienko doesn't seem bothered though. Emelienko ducks under a wild hook from Springs. Springs walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Emelienko checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Springs darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Springs ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Springs throws a jab when Emelienko was well out of range. A little feinted left hand from Emelienko on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Springs slips under a jab. Springs lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Emelienko at a distance.
A low kick from Springs is predictable there and Emelienko counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Springs darts in and out, connecting with a jab. This has been an exciting period of action! Springs fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Emelienko. Springs throws a wild body kick that Emelienko sees coming a mile off. Emelienko takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Springs lands with a thumping leg kick.
A low kick from Springs is predictable there and Emelienko counters with a stiff right hand. Springs's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Emelienko connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Springs scrambles back to his feet. Springs throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Springs throws a hook but Emelienko blocks it. Emelienko throws a leg kick but Springs sees it coming and moves out of range. Springs blocks a leg kick. Springs looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Emelienko walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Springs misses with a hook
and Emelienko cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Springs fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. A punch lands to the side of Emelienko 's head but he takes it in his stride. Emelienko clobbers Springs with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Emelienko takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Springs uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. A jab from Springs misses. Emelienko appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Good standup being displayed there by Springs as he connects with a hook. Springs misses the body punch and Emelienko cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Springs comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Springs chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Emelienko can pounce on him.
Springs connects with a right hand. Emelienko shakes it off. Springs punishes Emelienko's body with a nice straight punch. Emelienko keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Springs. Emelienko takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Springs cracks Emelienko with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Emelienko walks into a left hand. Springs connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Emelienko uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Springs.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Springs stuns Emelienko with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Randy Springs dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Randy Springs seems to be getting the better of the standup. Good exchange - Springs coming out on top. This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Emelienko might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. Emelienko on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Springs lands a really nice looking cross but Emelienko seems unphased.

Emelienko appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Emelienko misses with a hook. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Emelienko takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. The fighters circling - Springs throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Springs dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Emelienko. That did some damage! Springs lands a right hook to the body.
Springs throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Springs throws a nice outside leg kick. Emelienko throws a low kick, looking for Springs's leg but Springs calmly moves out of range. Springs throws a leg kick that is checked and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Springs defending well as Emelienko loads up on a big left hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Emelienko moves away from the strike by Springs. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Springs. Springs swings away with a body shot that misses
and Springs takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Emelienko connects with the punch. Emelienko takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. A jab from Springs finds it's way through Emelienko's defenses. Springs scores with a decent looking hook. Springs takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Springs buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Jab, jab by Springs - just one landing. Randy Springs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Emelienko steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Springs. Emelienko takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Randy Springs showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

and Springs counters with a lovely straight right hand! Emelienko looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Springs lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Emelienko is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Springs throws a jab but it's blocked by Emelienko. Springs closes the distance and lands a one-two. Springs defending well as Emelienko loads up on a big left hand. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Emelienko lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Springs has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Springs and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Springs throws a shot to the body.

Emelienko looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Springs lands a nice hook to Emelienko's body. Emelienko takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Springs lands a leg kick that knocks Emelienko off balance momentarily. Emelienko misses with a lunging right hand
and Springs counters with a nice uppercut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Emelienko slips a jab from Springs. Springs lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Springs. Springs throws a nice outside leg kick. Springs getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Springs.
And that's the end of the fight! Randy Springs comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Springs has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
