Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Merlin Avila (ranked 25380 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryuji O Reilly (ranked 25548 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Merlin Avila! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryuji O Reilly! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shigeki Sano and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! O Reilly has managed to clinch.
A frustrated look appears on O Reilly's face as he tries to break the clinch. Avila pulls guard effortlessly. O Reilly is looking to stand up but Avila won't let him. Avila scrambles and gets back to his feet.
O Reilly throws a good cross that connects.

It looks like Merlin Avila has been cut. Avila avoids the body shot from O Reilly.
O Reilly rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Avila counters with a nice double leg into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! O Reilly controls Avila momentarily but Avila frees himself. O Reilly can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Avila controls the pace. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Avila has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Avila stands up from O Reilly's guard - Avila perhaps looking for a knockout. O Reilly moves into range and connects with a jab. Ryuji O Reilly is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. O Reilly misses with a body punch
and Avila counters with a straight right hand. O Reilly takes a swing at Avila's ribcage but misses. Avila wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Avila really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. BOOM! O Reilly lands a beautiful left hook that drops Avila. Avila tries to recover but O Reilly is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Avila lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ryuji O Reilly!
