Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Argat Khan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Axe!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Axe wants to clinch.
Khan throws out a powerful jab.
It looks like Jon Axe has been cut.
Axe misses with a lunging right hand
and Khan counters with an outside leg kick.
A big right from Khan misses.
Axe is looking for the big counter here.
Axe defending well as Khan loads up on a big left hand.
Argat Khan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Khan thuds a left hand into Axe's body.
Axe blocks a jab.
It seemed like Axe was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Khan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Axe was well out of range. Poor timing from Khan.
Axe tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Khan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Khan looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Khan's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Khan lands a hook to the side of the head.
Axe misses with a hook from the clinch.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Axe.
Khan scores with a nice hook to the head.
Khan tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Khan lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Axe to his knees! Khan keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
