The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pellervoinen bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Pellervoinen has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Alzate is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Pellervoinen throws a big shot that misses.
Sampsa Pellervoinen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alzate uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pellervoinen.
Alzate swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Pellervoinen throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Alzate sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Alzate throws a nice head kick!
It looks like Sampsa Pellervoinen has been cut.
Alzate lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Pellervoinen misses with a wild body shot.
Alzate misses with a leg kick
and Pellervoinen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Pellervoinen rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Alzate counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Alzate definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Alzate moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Pellervoinen connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Alzate momentarily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pellervoinen looks to land a left hand but Alzate moved out of range nicely.
The fighters circle, before Alzate throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Pellervoinen's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Alzate lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
