Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Short McSmall (ranked 5758 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quick Joe (ranked 7236 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Short McSmall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Quick Joe! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Joe ducks right into an uppercut from McSmall. McSmall throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Joe is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. McSmall could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. McSmall throws a combination. Joe tries to block but a couple of punches get through. McSmall jabs at Joe's body. McSmall scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. McSmall scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Joe doesn't seem bothered though. Nice jab there from McSmall. Jab, jab by McSmall - just one landing. McSmall uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jab by McSmall. McSmall lands a jab. McSmall fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. McSmall misses with a looping right. Joe throws out a counter right but McSmall avoids it with no problem. McSmall connects with an inside leg kick. McSmall throws a wild combination but nothing lands. McSmall lands with a good body shot. Good shot there by McSmall. McSmall throws a push kick but Joe slaps the foot to one side. McSmall throws a lazy body kick and Joe counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Joe stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McSmall swivels though and keeps the full guard. Joe is pushing down on McSmall's leg trying to pass to half guard. McSmall is fighting to maintain full guard but Joe has managed to sneak the leg through. McSmall on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if McSmall tries to get out of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Joe slows the pace down in half guard. Joe stops McSmall from getting back to his feet.
Joe trying to control the pace. Let's hope that Joe has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Joe.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. McSmall throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Joe on the side of the head. McSmall clobbers Joe with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Joe has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Joe there as he acknowledges the shot. McSmall misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Joe.

That's four minutes gone in the round. McSmall lands a head kick. Joe smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Joe bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Joe changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Joe doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Short McSmall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McSmall throws a leg kick but Joe sees it coming and moves out of range. McSmall misses the shot to the body. Joe looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Joe moves out of range of the body kick. It seemed like Joe was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. A jab from McSmall finds it's way through Joe's defenses. Joe moves out of range as McSmall strikes. Joe changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. McSmall fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Joe drops down looking to force a counter takedown but McSmall defends it well. McSmall is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Joe. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Short McSmall dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
McSmall connects with a jab. McSmall jabs at Joe's body. McSmall swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A little jabbing left from Joe on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. McSmall connects with a looping right hand.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Joe crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from McSmall - the referee stops the clock and Joe gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says McSmall. Joe manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. McSmall throws a half hearted mid kick. Joe gets cracked there but stands up to it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice body kick from McSmall. Joe dodges the punch combination from McSmall.
That's one minute gone in the round. McSmall digs a good hook to Joe's body.

Joe drops down looking to force a counter takedown but McSmall defends it well. A clash of legs there as Joe blocks the low kick. McSmall moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromJoe. McSmall lands a front kick. McSmall throws a big shot that misses. Joe drops his hands momentarily and McSmall takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A head kick misses from McSmall. McSmall lunges at Joe with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Joe's hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McSmall lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Joe has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McSmall pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Joe keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A nice side step and Joe releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. McSmall throws a hook but Joe blocks it. It seemed like Joe was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. McSmall misses with a two punch combination.
Joe is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

McSmall throws a front kick aimed at Joe's knee but Joe avoids it well. A big right from McSmall misses. A jab from McSmall misses. Joe wants to counter with a clinch but McSmall pushes him away. McSmall is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Joe can do to turn this around? McSmall thows a leg kick but Joe checks it and Joe counters with a nice double leg into half guard. McSmall wants to stand back up but Joe manages to pass into side control.
Joe has control of an arm but McSmall manages to advance to Joe's back!
That's four minutes gone in the round. McSmall is trying to stick to Joe's back but Joe is turning into McSmall. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in McSmall's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Joe. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Joe passes into half guard. Joe stalling. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting McSmall here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Joe's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Short McSmall dominated that second round. That's time! McSmall's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Joe changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Joe has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. Joe takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Joe takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. A jab from McSmall misses. Joe looks like he wants to counter punch here. McSmall catches Joe with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Short McSmall is winning the standup battle so far. McSmall throws a chopping leg kick but Joe manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Joe avoids a kick to the body.
Joe appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. McSmall throws a leg kick that is checked and Joe decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in McSmall's guard. Joe is pushing down on McSmall's leg trying to pass to half guard. McSmall is fighting to maintain full guard but Joe has managed to sneak the leg through. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Joe perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. A looping hook to the body misses from McSmall. Joe does a little dance to reset his feet. Joe is clearly trying to counter these attacks from McSmall with a body shot. Joe keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
McSmall misses with a kick to the body and Joe counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Joe controlling the action here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that's the end of the fight! Short McSmall showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for McSmall, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
