Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Austin Bostin (ranked 4858 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Kovalev (ranked 8899 p4p, 400 weight class). Bostin comes to the cage accompanied by DJ Envy - Text Ur Number (feat. DJ Sliink & Fetty Wap). Mike Kovalev will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Austin Bostin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Kovalev!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Donatello Bradman and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kovalev is trying hard to land a takedown here. Bostin sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Bostin half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Kovalev tries to clinch but Bostin moves away
and Bostin counters with a shoot takedown. Kovalev fights it but they end up in guard.
Bostin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Bostin drops back looking for a leg! Kovalev is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kovalev manages to kick Bostin off! Bostin jumps back into Kovalev's guard.
Bostin drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kovalev manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bostin has Kovalev in his guard.
Kovalev won't allow Bostin to sweep him here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kovalev missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bostin is on top in guard.
Bostin drops back looking for a leg! Kovalev is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kovalev manages to kick Bostin off! Bostin jumps back into Kovalev's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bostin has gone for a leg lock! Kovalev slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bostin's guard.
Bostin keeping moving, preventing Kovalev from controlling successfully.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Kovalev working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Kovalev wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Bostin's closed guard. He's half up but Bostin has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Bostin pivots and extends the arm, Kovalev falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Bostin! Well done that man!
