The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ivanov tries to score a power double leg takedown but Marquez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ivanov somewhat.
Marquez moves in looking to clinch but Ivanov pushes him off.

Marquez parries the strikes from Ivanov easily there. Ivanov is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Marquez to escape.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Ivanov. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Ivanov takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Ivanov takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Let's hope that Ivanov has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
