Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Max Fawce (ranked 2804 p4p, 279 weight class) and Brazilian Burger (ranked 2588 p4p, 265 weight class). Burger has chosen Sorriso Maroto - Assim Você Mata o Papai as his entrance music. Brazilian Burger has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Max Fawce!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Brazilian Burger!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Daniel Franklin and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fawce decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Burger trying to hold on to Fawce's head to control him but Fawce postures up.
Burger wants to improve his position but Fawce is controlling well.
Fawce wants to lay and pray for a moment but Burger keeps working.

Fawce is looking for a kimura here.
Burger is trying to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fawce trying to control the action but Burger is working from the bottom.

Burger moves into full guard.
Fawce stopping the sweep attempt from Burger.
Burger not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Burger looking to hit a scissor sweep but Fawce is one step ahead there.
Fawce is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Burger tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Fawce shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Fawce was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burger is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Burger looks to move to half guard but instead Fawce has passed into mount! Damn!
Fawce controlling the pace for now.
Burger can't escape the position.
Fawce trying to control but Burger is having none of it.
Burger is looking to improve his position but Fawce isn't that keen on the idea.

Burger is still trying to improve position.
Burger wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Burger tries to roll but Fawce sticks to his back.

Fawce looking for the choke but no joy.
Burger manages to reverse the position and now he's in Fawce's guard. Nice work there by Burger.
Burger not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Burger passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Burger moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Fawce is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Fawce wants to control but Burger postures up.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Burger shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fawce but Fawce pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Fawce closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Burger quickly recovers to half guard.
Fawce seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Burger does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Fawce is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Burger can do to turn this around?
Burger is looking to improve his position.

Fawce gets to mount! Burger was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Burger is thwarting Fawce's attempts to control the position.

Burger is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Fawce doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Burger.
Still in half guard, Burger seems content to control.
Fawce is trying to maintain the position but Burger is very close to passing his half guard.
Burger is looking to take a break and control but Fawce is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Burger trying to mount his opponent but Fawce defends it.
Burger prevents Fawce from improving his position.
Burger is trying to control the action in half guard but Fawce is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Burger might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Fawce haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Fawce might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Burger enables Fawce to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Burger manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Burger fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Fawce to the ground. Burger is now in Fawce's guard.

Fawce is looking for a triangle but Burger pushes his legs off easily.
Burger's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Burger stands and throws Fawce's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Fawce regains half guard there - taking advantage of Burger's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Burger looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Burger keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Fawce is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Fawce tries to get to full guard but Burger has control of the leg.
Max Fawce is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Burger wants to free his trapped foot but Fawce is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Burger is looking to pass Fawce's guard but actually Fawce recovers to full guard.
Burger trying to move into half guard but instead Fawce has managed to sweep!

Burger wants to sweep but no luck.
Fawce trying to control the position from guard on top but Burger is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Burger is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Burger escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fawce gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Burger accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

And that's the end of the fight!
Brazilian Burger comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Fawce has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A less than humble Max Fawce misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
The defeated Brazilian Burger had this to say: 'My manager is a dumbass muthafucka!!! Read the fucking forums now you nincompoop!'.
