Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Day. No joy for Ford on that attempt.
Day moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Ford shoots and misses
enabling Day to counter with a crisp jab.
Day stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Day wants it to stay on the feet.
It seemed like Day was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Martyn Ford. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Day moves into range and connects with a jab.
Ford gets a takedown into half guard.
Ford trying to control the action but Day is working from the bottom.
Day pushes Ford off looking to stand but Ford dives back in and keeps control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ford works his way into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Day tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ford wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Day is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Day is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Day wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Ford has an Americana. Day didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Ford is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Ford hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
