The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holden pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Alvarez changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
A clash of legs there as Holden blocks the low kick.
Alvarez misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Holden closes the distance and pushes Alvarez back into the cage.
Holden breaks the clinch.
Alvarez lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Holden circles away quickly and effectively.
Holden feinted with a counter takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Holden tries to bum rush Alvarez with a series of wild strikes but Alvarez uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Alvarez gets tackled into the cage by Holden. Holden maintains the clinch.

Alvarez changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Holden fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Holden misses with a hook. Alvarez ducked under it nicely.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Holden shoots in looking for a takedown. Alvarez tries to sprawl out of it but Holden keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Alvarez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Alvarez throws a right and a left that Holden avoids nicely.
It looked like Holden was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Holden really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Alvarez closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Holden! Alvarez dives in looking to finish! Holden is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
