Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ernest Sloan (ranked 7161 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samuel Hayward (ranked 8883 p4p, 0 weight class). Hayward has chosen Kari Sigurdsson - Beyond the Horizon as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Ernest Sloan had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ernest Sloan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Samuel Hayward! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Sam Margolis and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hayward shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sloan sprawls well. Sloan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hayward gets slowly back to his feet. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Sloan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sloan decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hayward to his feet. Sloan really is a fat lump. Sloan slaps away a takedown attempt from Hayward, before circling back to the center of the mat. Sloan tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Hayward manages to circle out of the way. Hayward fails with the takedown and Sloan counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Ernest Sloan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Samuel Hayward.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sloan has closed the distance and engaged Hayward in a clinch.
Sloan has Hayward pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Sloan pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hayward tumbling to the mat - Sloan dives into Hayward's guard. Sloan wants to control from the top but Hayward keeps moving. Sloan tries to stand but Hayward is controlling from the bottom. Sloan sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hayward is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Sloan wants to stand but Hayward has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Sloan wants to stand and escape but instead Hayward has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Sloan tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hayward drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hayward jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Hayward drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Sloan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hayward has Sloan in his guard. Sloan throwing strikes from guard but Hayward blocks nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sloan is looking to stand up but Hayward won't let him. Hayward pulls Sloan in close to his closed guard and prevents Sloan from doing any damage or advancing position. Sloan trying to control the position from guard on top but Hayward is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sloan looking to sit in guard and control but Hayward gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Hayward drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hayward jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Sloan looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Hayward drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Sloan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hayward has Sloan in his guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Sloan wants to get up but he can't break Hayward's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ernest Sloan dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Sloan looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Sloan is looking to pass Hayward's guard but actually Hayward recovers to full guard. Hayward pulls Sloan in close to his closed guard and prevents Sloan from doing any damage or advancing position. Hayward has a closed guard, preventing Sloan from standing up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sloan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sloan trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Hayward trying to control the position here.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hayward shoots in but no luck this time. Sloan wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Sloan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hayward is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Sloan's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Hayward holds on and takes a little breather. Sloan wants to stand and escape but instead Hayward has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sloan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hayward is one step ahead there. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hayward passes easily into side control. Nice work. Hayward is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sloan knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Hayward has hold of Sloan's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Sloan tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Hayward cranks the arm and Sloan screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Sloan, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
