Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ben Carsly (ranked 6595 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benjamin Briggs (ranked 5236 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ben Carsly! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Benjamin Briggs! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carsly connects with a nice looking jab.
Briggs fails with the takedown. Carsly tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Briggs manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Carsly tries for a takedown but Briggs sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Briggs is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Carsly with a body shot. Briggs misses with a body shot.

Briggs is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Carsly's half guard. Briggs tries to pass to full mount but Carsly defends it. Carsly wants to control but Briggs is keeping busy and won't allow it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carsly tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Ground and pound from Briggs. Carsly looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Briggs stalling away here and it's allowed Carsly to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carsly looking for a sweep. Not yet Carsly, not yet. Carsly manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Briggs manages to get himself to full guard.
Carsly with a flurry of punches that miss. Carsly might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Briggs looking for a sweep. Not yet Briggs, not yet. Carsly with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Carsly with a nice head shot there. Carsly wants to control from the top but Briggs keeps moving. Carsly stopping the sweep attempt from Briggs. Carsly working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carsly trying to control but Briggs is working from the bottom. Carsly landing some decent shots from guard. Carsly postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Briggs trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Carsly won't allow Briggs to sweep him here. Carsly got a little sloppy there for a moment and Briggs has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Carsly has managed to get both his arms back between Briggs's legs - danger averted. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Carsly throws a big elbow that misses. Briggs has momentary wrist control but Carsly slips an elbow through the middle. Briggs wants to sweep but no luck. Carsly trying to control the position from guard on top but Briggs is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carsly stopping the sweep attempt from Briggs. Carsly trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Carsly is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Carsly keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Carsly looks for a takedown but Briggs sprawls well. Carsly scores with a jab to the body. Briggs throws a body punch but Carsly moves out of range. The crowd cheers as Carsly lands an impressive looking overhand right. Briggs doesn't seem phased though. Briggs closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Briggs thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Briggs trying to control the position but Carsly is working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carsly gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Briggs is looking to take a break and control but Carsly is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Carsly wants to get back to full guard but Briggs has mounted him! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Carsly wants to hold on but Briggs pushes him away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Benjamin Briggs will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Carsly shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Briggs defends it nicely. Carsly smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Carsly lands a nice looking body shot.
Carsly fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Briggs stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Briggs wants it to stay on the feet. Briggs changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Carsly lands a body shot.
Carsly scores with a jab to the jaw. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Briggs misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Carsly.
Carsly thows a left - swing and a miss! Briggs keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Carsly's jab looks to have found its range, popping Briggs under the eye. Briggs looks to score with a jab to the body but Carsly is just out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carsly lands with a right hand. Briggs drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Carsly is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Briggs defends well. Briggs trying to control the position from guard on top but Carsly is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Briggs stands up over Carsly, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Briggs avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Briggs pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Carsly is keeping the position for now. Briggs stands and throws Carsly's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Briggs cracks Carsly with a big elbow. Carsly is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Carsly takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Briggs just content to control the position. Briggs scoring with punches and elbows. Carsly tries to bench press Briggs off him but Briggs keeps the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Briggs wants to control but Carsly is keeping him busy. Briggs in side control lands a decent elbow. Carsly looks to move to half guard but instead Briggs has passed into mount! Damn! Briggs lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Briggs controlling his opponent. Briggs is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Carsly can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Briggs avoids the attempt from Carsly to control. Briggs controlling from the full mount. Carsly working to try and regain half guard.
Carsly holds on, trying desperately to control. Carsly is desperately trying to improve his position but Briggs has a good base and remains in mount. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Briggs looking for a guillotine from mount but Carsly is having none of it. Carsly keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Benjamin Briggs showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Briggs misses the shot to the body. Carsly fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Briggs looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Briggs ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Carsly shoots for a double leg takedown but Briggs sprawls well. He's pushed Carsly's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Briggs looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Briggs swings for the body but Carsly moves out of range.
Carsly bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Briggs's head. Briggs drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Carsly shoots for a takedown but Briggs saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Carsly throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Briggs throws out a counter right but Carsly avoids it with no problem. Ben Carsly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Briggs shoots in for a takedown but Carsly shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Briggs is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Carsly rather than just go for the knockout. Briggs ducks under a wild hook from Carsly. Carsly tries to sprawl but Briggs drives through with a takedown into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Briggs scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Carsly is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Briggs wants to pass to mount but Carsly is defending the position. Briggs has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Briggs looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Carsly regains full guard. Nicely done. Carsly is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Carsly wants to pass to mount but Briggs is defending the position. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Briggs is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Briggs is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Benjamin Briggs has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carsly scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Carsly wants to take a breather but Briggs is having none of it. Briggs is looking to control Carsly's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Briggs avoid being mounted? Briggs tries to roll over but Carsly keeps him under control. Carsly working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Briggs trying to control from the bottom.
Carsly is trying to control the action in half guard but Briggs is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Briggs keeping hold of Carsly's head, controlling as best he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Briggs has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Carsly. Oh but Briggs has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Carsly goes limp - he's gone! Briggs jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Benjamin Briggs! Benjamin Briggs spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
