Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jandre Vorster (ranked 2200 p4p, 239 weight class) and Michael Alvarez (ranked 3680 p4p, 372 weight class). Vorster comes to the cage accompanied by Behemoth. Alvarez has chosen Doom as his entrance music. Michael Alvarez will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vorster looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Alvarez is fending him off so far but Vorster persists. Nope, Alvarez circles away and we're back to standing. Vorster moves out of range as Alvarez throws a body kick.
Vorster closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Vorster is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Alvarez pulls him back up using the underhooks. Nice elbow from Alvarez. Alvarez is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Alvarez misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Alvarez digs a right hand into Vorster's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Vorster's gas tank. Vorster is trying to drag Alvarez to the mat but Alvarez just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Alvarez loads up on a big right hand but Vorster slips the punch. Alvarez scores with a head kick. Vorster tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Alvarez fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Vorster, pushing him back against the cage. Alvarez throws an elbow that misses.
Alvarez swings wildly with an uppercut but Vorster uses good head movement to avoid it. Vorster tries for a takedown. No joy.
Vorster gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Alvarez regains guard.
Vorster wants to control from the top but Alvarez keeps moving. Vorster stops Alvarez from standing up. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Alvarez holds on and takes a little breather. Vorster drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Vorster jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Vorster trying to control the position from guard on top but Alvarez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Alvarez is trying to control the position but Vorster postures up. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Vorster wants to control from the top but Alvarez keeps moving.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Vorster blocks the body kick.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Alvarez. Vorster moves out of range of the leg kick from Alvarez. Vorster half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Vorster tries to clinch there but Alvarez circles away.

Vorster tries to close the distance and clinch up but Alvarez swats him away and circles back towards the center. Vorster sets himself, and Alvarez steps forward looking for the clinch! Vorster avoids it this time. Alvarez connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Vorster clinches. Vorster looking for a takedown. Alvarez lands a nice elbow. Alvarez creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Alvarez lands a nice elbow. Vorster changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Alvarez fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Vorster shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Alvarez manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The fighters are working up against the cage. Alvarez's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Vorster changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Alvarez fights it off and pushes away nicely.

And that's the end of the fight! Michael Alvarez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Alvarez winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
