Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Martin La Riva (ranked 5884 p4p, 630 weight class) and Jeffery Larson (ranked 24097 p4p, 884 weight class). Jeffery Larson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Martin La Riva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jeffery Larson! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Excellent takedown into side control there by La Riva. Larson tries to strike but it doesn't land. Larson wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. You can see the frustration on Larson's face as La Riva controls the position. Larson manages to get back to half guard. Larson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but La Riva pulls his head out easily. Larson is looking to escape. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. La Riva postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Larson to stand up. Martin La Riva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. La Riva thuds a left hand into Larson's body. A combination from La Riva does no damage. La Riva has managed to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. La Riva manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. La Riva utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. La Riva seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. La Riva is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Larson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. La Riva wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Larson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Larson working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. La Riva might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. La Riva wants to sweep here but Larson controlling him for the moment. La Riva pulls Larson in to control the position. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Larson stops La Riva from standing up.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Larson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. La Riva sprawls well initially but Larson persists and gets the takedown into half guard. La Riva is trying to escape back to his feet but Larson uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Larson gets to mount! La Riva was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
That's three minutes gone in the round. La Riva working to try and regain half guard.
Larson throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
La Riva is trying to escape the mount.
La Riva tries to hold on but Larson pushes him away. Larson goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now La Riva is on top in guard.
Larson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Larson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but La Riva can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Larson looks winded! Larson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
La Riva got a little sloppy there for a moment and Larson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, La Riva has managed to get both his arms back between Larson's legs - danger averted. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Larson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but La Riva can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Martin La Riva dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
La Riva keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Larson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. La Riva feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Larson is working an open guard so La Riva takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. La Riva pushes Larson up against the cage in a clinch. La Riva breaks from the clinch.
La Riva shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Larson napping and manages to drive through into side control! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Larson is looking for a sweep. Check out the look on La Riva's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Larson is breathing heavily. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! La Riva controlling from side mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Larson wants to get back to his feet but La Riva drags him back down. La Riva stands up and beckons Larson to his feet. La Riva is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Larson can do to turn this around? Larson lands a leg kick that knocks La Riva off balance momentarily. La Riva tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. La Riva feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Larson pushes La Riva off and gets back to his feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Larson. As Larson tries to get set, La Riva tries to push him back and clinch up but Larson manages to avoid the attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Larson is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and La Riva moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Martin La Riva! Martin La Riva bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
