Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jallu Pesonen (ranked 1328 p4p, 145 weight class) and Mnajdra Sheze (ranked 2044 p4p, 215 weight class). Pesonen kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is DJ Orkidea - Joutsenlaulu. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pesonen misses with an uppercut
and Sheze counters with a straight right hand.
Pesonen throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Good leg kick by Pesonen there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Pesonen throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Pesonen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Sheze just misses with a punch to the body.
Pesonen tries to clinch up.
Pesonen fails in his attempt to clinch.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Sheze! But no joy.

Sheze closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Pesonen's guard.

Pesonen connects with a leg kick. Sheze looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Pesonen lands a nice shot that snaps Sheze's head back.

As Sheze backs away, Pesonen returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pesonen is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sheze knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mnajdra Sheze showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

A nice right hand lands inside from Pesonen.
Sheze ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Sheze no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Sheze working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pesonen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Sheze is tightening it up a little... Pesonen has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Pesonen reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Pesonen taps out! Nice BJJ there by Sheze!

After winning the bout, Mnajdra Sheze thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
