Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tod Valenzuela (ranked 6539 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mai Pai (ranked 6671 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Valenzuela is defended easily by Pai.
Pai thows a left - swing and a miss!
Pai misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Valenzuela really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Horrible takedown attempt by Valenzuela or perhaps it was just good defense by Pai, which made it look bad.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pai swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Pai looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Valenzuela shoots in for a takedown but Pai shows good takedown defense.
As Valenzuela backs off Pai throws a huge counter combo but Valenzuela manages to avoid it all.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tod Valenzuela. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Valenzuela will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Pai throws a counter combo.
Valenzuela darts in looking for a takedown but Pai gets double underhooks and turns Valenzuela into the cage.
Valenzuela sets himself, and Pai steps forward looking for the clinch! Valenzuela avoids it this time.
Valenzuela doesn't manage to clinch there - Pai circles away.
Valenzuela throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pai's waist but Pai gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Valenzuela off to one side.
Valenzuela dives in and grabs Pai's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pai pushes down on Valenzuela's head and hops out.
Valenzuela looks to land a combination but Pai avoids it well.
Pai stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pai wants it to stay on the feet.
Pai misses with a hook.

Valenzuela has managed to clinch.

Pai lands with a right to the head.
Valenzuela's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Valenzuela wants to get back to striking at distance but Pai won't allow it.
Valenzuela wants to break the clinch but can't.
Pai lands a left hand that snaps the head of Valenzuela backwards.
Valenzuela takes a knee to the side of the body.
Valenzuela is breathing heavily.
Pai taking a break, stalling in the clinch.

A nice left hand lands by Pai.
Pai pushes Valenzuela against the cage. Pai is working some dirty boxing. Pai pushes off with a quick right hook! Valenzuela goes down! Valenzuela tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Pai moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
