Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Vladimir Pulin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Henry Hughes! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Peter Branson and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hughes shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pulin pinned against the cage. Pulin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Pulin cracks Hughes with a good jab. Hughes bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Hughes lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Hughes in side control lands a decent elbow. Pulin taking a bit of punishment here - Hughes scoring with strikes. Hughes looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hughes working the ground and pound. Pulin is trying to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hughes has knee on belly and moves into mount. A nice elbow there by Hughes. Hughes lands a nice shot to the head. Hughes scoring with strikes but Pulin is staying in there. Hughes is in the full mount, landing strikes. Hughes is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Pulin is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Pulin flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Hughes anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Pulin and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Hughes slips an arm under Pulin chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Hughes has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Hughes is squeezing on Pulin like an anaconda would it's prey. Pulin fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
