Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Thurman Britt (ranked 25100 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julio Ramirez (ranked 6644 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Thurman Britt has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Thurman Britt seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thurman Britt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Julio Ramirez! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Thiago Cunha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Britt is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ramirez sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Ramirez swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Ramirez throws out a leg kick but Britt moves out of range and Ramirez only half commits. Britt is looking to counter the offense by Ramirez and move into the clinch. Britt tries to sprawl but Ramirez drives through with a takedown into half guard. Ramirez is figuring out what he wants to do next. Ramirez is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Britt has managed to free his arm - good work. Ramirez sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Britt defending well though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Britt is defending against the submission attempts here by Ramirez.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ramirez tries to stand but can't do so whilst Britt controls his leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Still in half guard, Ramirez seems content to control. Britt knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ramirez on the ground. Ground and pound from Ramirez. Ramirez slows the pace down in half guard. Ramirez throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Britt to regain full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Ramirez not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Ramirez's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ramirez advances position into side control! Ramirez is putting a hurting on Britt here, landing some big shots from side control. Ramirez scores with a couple of short elbows. A lull in the action here. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Ramirez wants to stand but Britt has his arm trapped.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ramirez has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Britt is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Ramirez yanks on the arm and Britt is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Ramirez.
