Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Juan Corona!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cub Lamas!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lamas fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Corona manages to avoid it.
Lamas scores with a jab to the body.
Lamas lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Corona at a distance.
Lamas pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Corona back to the cage. Lamas follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Corona throws a lazy uppercut
and Lamas counters with a stiff right hand.
Corona takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

As Corona backs off Lamas throws a huge counter combo but Corona manages to avoid it all.

Lamas shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Corona's guard.

Corona has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Lamas is proving hard to escape from.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Corona bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Lamas's head backwards.
It looks like Cub Lamas has been cut.

Corona is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Lamas's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Corona throws out a loose jab but Lamas uses good head movement to avoid it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lamas rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Corona moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Lamas has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Lamas takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Corona seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Lamas looks to score with a jab to the body but Corona is just out of range.

Lamas walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Lamas takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Corona throws a monster overhand right that drops Lamas! Corona follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

After winning the bout, Juan Corona thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
