The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Borodach clinches up with McGowan and pushes him back against the cage.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McGowan can do anything to dispel that myth.

McGowan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McGowan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
McGowan is looking to stand up but Borodach won't let him.

McGowan appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Borodach tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but McGowan defends well and Borodach ends up having to push McGowan into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

McGowan is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Borodach to keep the fight standing.

Borodach prevents a takedown attempt there.

McGowan goes for a takedown in the clinch but Borodach prevents it.

McGowan gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Borodach is pressing down on McGowan's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

McGowan drops back, looking for a kneebar! Borodach looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Borodach looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Borodach!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
McGowan is not content to let Borodach control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Borodach sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but McGowan is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
McGowan is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
McGowan parries the strikes from Borodach easily there. Borodach is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable McGowan to escape.
Borodach throws a strike aimed at the side of McGowan's head but McGowan avoids it well.
McGowan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Borodach. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Borodach is trying to get an arm triangle but McGowan is defending well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Borodach stands up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Olexandr Borodach dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

McGowan leaves Borodach with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Borodach gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows McGowan to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Borodach pushes McGowan off and scrambles back to his feet.

McGowan shoots in but no luck this time.
McGowan is breathing heavily.

McGowan fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Borodach, pushing him back against the cage.
Borodach lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of McGowan backwards.
Borodach scores with a shot to the side of McGowan's head.

Borodach breaks the clinch.
McGowan tries for a takedown but Borodach circles away easily
and Borodach counters with a two punch combo.

Borodach forces McGowan back against the cage and clinches.
Borodach pushes McGowan back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
McGowan looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Borodach lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of McGowan backwards.


McGowan is rocked!
Borodach creates a bit of space for himself and rocks McGowan with a big uppercut! McGowan tries to clinch up but Borodach pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples McGowan to the mat! McGowan covers up and Borodach unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Olexandr Borodach!
