Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cj McGregor (ranked 3641 p4p, 336 weight class) and Jake Norris (ranked 6091 p4p, 507 weight class). Jake Norris has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Cj McGregor! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jake Norris! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Ren Mimura and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Norris slips a jab and a cross from McGregor.
Norris shoots in but no luck this time. Norris doesn't succeed with the takedown and McGregor counters with a straight punch to the midsection. McGregor defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Norris. Cj McGregor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Norris. McGregor swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Norris moves into the clinch. McGregor has had enough of the clinch but Norris keeps him there for the moment. McGregor is trying to break the clinch but Norris has him pressed against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Norris's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Norris shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. An attempted straight right counter from McGregor misses the target. Norris clinches. McGregor looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGregor breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Norris takes the fight into the clinch. Norris manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Norris seems keen to control McGregor's posture. Norris is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. McGregor is aware though and is defending well. McGregor wants to get up but he can't break Norris's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. McGregor trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Norris is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Norris controls McGregor momentarily but McGregor frees himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McGregor wants to stand but Norris is controlling his posture from full guard. Norris looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. McGregor knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Norris on the ground. McGregor preventing the sweep.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Norris tries to clinch up. Norris showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from McGregor.
McGregor scores with a punch to the head. Norris darts in looking for a takedown but McGregor gets double underhooks and turns Norris into the cage. McGregor appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. McGregor slips a jab and a cross from Norris.
McGregor lands a left and a right that send Norris crashing to the mat, dazed. McGregor thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Norris is rocked!
That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Crack! McGregor connects with the perfect overhand right and Norris falls face first to the canvas. Timbeeeeeeeer! Beautiful knockout for McGregor!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Cj McGregor! Cj McGregor decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
