Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rodrick Strong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Usain Clark!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strong moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Strong drives through and clinches with Clark against the cage.
Strong's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Strong checks a leg kick nicely.
Strong's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Strong duly obliges.
Strong shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Clark napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Clark looking for a sweep but Strong has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Clark tries to lock up and control but Strong gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Strong knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Clark on the ground.
Clark really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Strong sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Clark is squirming around, avoiding Strong's attempts to control the action.
Strong unloads with some shots from mount but Clark bucks and avoids them well.
Clark really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Clark is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Clark flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Clark sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Clark tries to kick Strong off but Strong keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Clark wants to control but Strong is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Clark is looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Clark is trying to maintain the position but Strong is very close to passing his half guard.
Clark moves into full guard.
Strong trying to control the position from guard on top but Clark is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Strong has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Strong has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Clark to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Strong is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Clark pulls down on the head and he's put Strong to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Usain Clark!
