Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmie Nichols (ranked 7763 p4p, 0 weight class) and Liam Donter (ranked 4215 p4p, 555 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Jimmie Nichols! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Liam Donter ! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Donter shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Donter was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Nichols misses with a strike from the bottom. Nichols tries to get back to half guard but can't. Donter is looking to take a break and control but Nichols is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Donter working away. Donter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nichols keeps working. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Donter stands up and we're back to a striking position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Donter misses with an uppercut
and Nichols counters with a shoot takedown. Donter fights it but they end up in guard. Donter is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Nichols dives into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Donter wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
That's one minute gone in the round. Donter tries to buck Nichols off but Nichols is having none of it. A lull in the action here. Nichols has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Donter is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Donter is trying to escape the position but Nichols is controlling the position. You can see the frustration on Donter 's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. A lull in the action here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nichols seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Donter for as long as he can get away with.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Nichols's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Donter is trying to control Nichols's posture but Nichols avoids it. Donter takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Nichols working away. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Nichols moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Nichols really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nichols is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Donter knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Nichols in side control, just content to control the action for now. Donter tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Nichols easily slips into full mount! Donter tries to hold on but Nichols postures up. Donter wants to get back to his feet.
Donter is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Nichols content just to control the position here. Donter is hanging on here. He's in a desperate position. Donter wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Nichols lands a big shot there that rocks Donter but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Nichols controlling from mount. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimmie Nichols dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Nichols is looking to clinch but Donter is avoiding it.
Donter has taken the fight to the clinch.
Nichols changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Donter fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Donter shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Nichols's guard. Nichols lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Nichols will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Donter keeping full guard, as Nichols tries to pass. Donter has momentary wrist control but Nichols slips an elbow through the middle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Donter wants to stand but Nichols is controlling the position. Donter is trying to control the position but Nichols postures up. Nichols prevents Donter from getting back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Donter escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nichols gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Donter trying to keep a closed guard but Nichols is proving a slippery customer.
Donter has his hands on Nichols's head, controlling the position. Nichols engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Donter working for a triangle but Nichols defends it easily.
Donter is breathing heavily. Nichols not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Donter trying to keep a closed guard but Nichols is proving a slippery customer.
Nichols with a nice head shot there. Donter is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Nichols looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Donter looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Nichols! Nichols throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Nichols is defended easily by Donter . Donter drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Nichols defends it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nichols tries to score a power double leg takedown but Donter sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nichols somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmie Nichols. That's going to take a lot out of him. Donter closes the distance and pushes Nichols back into the cage. A frustrated look appears on Donter 's face as he tries to break the clinch. Nichols avoids the elbow strike from Donter , against the cage.
Nichols wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Nichols pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Nice sprawl there from Donter as Nichols shoots in. Nichols throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Donter 's waist but Donter gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nichols off to one side.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Donter closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Nichols has had enough of the clinch but Donter keeps him there for the moment. Nichols will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Donter up against the cage. Donter misses with some punches.
Donter lands a damaging elbow.
It looks like Jimmie Nichols has been cut. Donter breaks the clinch.
Nichols shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Donter defends it nicely. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Nichols tries to score a power double leg takedown but Donter sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nichols somewhat. And Donter tries to counter it with a takedown but Nichols pushes his down on his head and steps out. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Liam Donter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Jimmie Nichols's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Donter shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Nichols napping and manages to drive through into side control! Nichols struggling a bit here. Donter is trying to get an arm triangle but Nichols is defending well. Nichols holds on to Donter 's head and controls the position momentarily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nichols gets back to half guard. Nichols is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Donter 's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Donter 's back! Nichols has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Donter ! Can he survive? No! He's out! Nichols gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
