Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Caiaphas Caine (ranked 5422 p4p, 188 weight class) and Mario Eikmeyer (ranked 6639 p4p, 211 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 38 - 28 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Caiaphas Caine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 39 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mario Eikmeyer!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eikmeyer tries for a takedown but Caine sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Eikmeyer fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Caine sprawls well initially but Eikmeyer persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Eikmeyer is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Caine defends it well.
Eikmeyer slips a nice elbow through Caine's hands, connecting with Caine's forehead.
Caine is trying to maintain the position but Eikmeyer is very close to passing his half guard.

Eikmeyer is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Caine is just riding it out for now. Eikmeyer eventually gives up the hold.

Eikmeyer looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Eikmeyer drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Caine manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Eikmeyer has Caine in his guard.

Caine will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Eikmeyer is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Caine is aware though and is defending well.
Caine throws a big elbow that misses.
Caine stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Eikmeyer swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Caiaphas Caine will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Caine drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Caine jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Caine is nestled in close to Eikmeyer, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Caine connects with a nice short shot to Eikmeyer's temple.

Oh but Eikmeyer is tightening it up a little... Caine has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Caine reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Caine taps out! Nice BJJ there by Eikmeyer!

Mario Eikmeyer decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
