PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between I am Thor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ace Ventura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ventura has chosen When Nature Calls... as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thor fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ventura manages to avoid it.

Ventura shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Thor will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Ventura forces his way into half guard.
Thor wants to get back to his feet.

Ventura is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Thor doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ventura.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Thor wants to stand and escape but Ventura is having none of it.

Ventura is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Thor will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Thor pushes Ventura away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Ventura gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Thor manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by Thor, under a barage of strikes from Ventura.
Ventura is keen to just control but Thor is a slippery customer.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ventura in particular looking to stall.
Ventura's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Ventura closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Ventura is looking to take a break and control but Thor is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ventura throws a strike aimed at the side of Thor's head but Thor avoids it well.
Ace Ventura has got the better of the ground game so far.
Thor wants to get back to his feet but Ventura is dominant here and he's now got Thor's back!
Ventura is riding his opponent, not letting Thor buck him off.

Ventura is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Ventura gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Ventura gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Ventura apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Thor lands with an uppercut that bounces Ventura off the cage and back into rage.

Ventura shoots in looking for a takedown. Thor tries to sprawl out of it but Ventura keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Thor manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Thor throws a right hand that Ventura ducks under and follows up with a left that Ventura also avoids with ease.
Thor digs a good body shot into Ventura's ribs.
Thor swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Thor lands a two punch combo.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ventura shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ventura misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
