Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spengler tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Spengler throws a series of punches but Brown moves out of range.
Brown lands with a nice body punch.
Spengler tries to clinch up but Brown circles away and keeps his distance.
Some wild striking there from Spengler.
Spengler tries to bum rush Brown with a series of wild strikes but Brown uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Brown lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Spengler circles away quickly and effectively.
Spengler moves in looking to clinch but Brown pushes him off.
Brown shoots in for a double leg but Spengler sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Spengler throws a combination that misses

and Brown holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Spengler tries to break the clinch but Brown is controlling the position.

Brown manages to break the clinch.
Brown shoots in but Spengler avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Spengler throws a left and a right that both miss
and Brown counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Spengler is not content to let Brown control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Brown shoots in but no luck this time.
Spengler misses with a combination

and Brown counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Brown.
Brown has Spengler pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Spengler manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Spengler is trying to break the clinch but Brown has him pressed against the cage.
Brown tries for a takedown but Spengler manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Brown. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Spengler throws out a leg kick but Brown moves out of range and Spengler only half commits.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Spengler tries to hold on but Brown pushes him away.
Brown has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Spengler's face.
Spengler is desperately trying to improve his position but Brown has a good base and remains in mount.

Spengler tries to lock up and control but Brown gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

James Brown showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Brown, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
