Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Alex Joshua (ranked 6363 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Freds (ranked 25008 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Joshua might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Hey, It's Your Funeral Mama. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alex Joshua! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fred Freds! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight moves into the clinch position. Freds wants to stall.
Joshua tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Joshua misses with some punches.
Joshua has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Freds avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Joshua throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Freds blocks it with crossed arms. Joshua tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Joshua with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Joshua manages to break the clinch.
Joshua drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Joshua with a flurry of punches that miss. Joshua slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Freds wants to stand but Joshua is controlling the position. Freds trying to control the position.
Joshua is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Freds is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Joshua sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. The fight moves into the clinch position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Freds looking to slow down the pace here. Joshua tries to score a body lock takedown but Freds shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Freds dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Joshua escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Joshua darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Joshua takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Joshua passes the guard and advances to mount! Joshua sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Joshua landing strikes from the mount. Freds is bucking up trying to escape but Joshua cracks him with another couple of good strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Freds gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Joshua to score an easy takedown into full guard. Freds manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Joshua using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Freds has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Joshua escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Joshua shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Freds as he jumps to the side. Joshua sets himself, and Freds steps forward looking for the clinch! Joshua avoids it this time. Alex Joshua is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Joshua feints and as Freds raises his hands in defense, Joshua changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Joshua wants to stand but Freds is controlling his posture from full guard. Joshua loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Joshua landing some decent shots from guard. Freds trying to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Joshua throwing strikes from guard but Freds blocks nicely. Joshua showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Freds working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Joshua. Joshua is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Freds can do to turn this around? Freds wants to get back to his feet but Joshua is in a dominant position and won't allow it. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Joshua looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Freds! Joshua tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Joshua has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Joshua decides to stand back up. Joshua drives through with a takedown into Freds's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Joshua with a nice head shot there. Joshua throwing strikes from guard but Freds blocks nicely. Freds wants to stand and escape but Joshua is having none of it. Joshua in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Joshua engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Freds controls Joshua momentarily but Joshua frees himself. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alex Joshua dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Joshua scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Joshua scores with punches from side control. Freds defending against the ground and pound. Joshua staying calm. Joshua is working Freds over with some ground and pound from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Joshua controls the position. Joshua working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Joshua controlling the position. Joshua stands up and beckons Freds to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Joshua fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Freds avoids it really well and circles away. Freds is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Horrible takedown attempt by Joshua or perhaps it was just good defense by Freds, which made it look bad. Freds steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Joshua. Joshua shoots for a double leg takedown but Freds sprawls well. He's pushed Joshua's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alex Joshua. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Freds gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Joshua accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Freds wants to stand up but Joshua is controlling him. Joshua is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Joshua works a leg free and moves into half guard. Joshua uses his free foot to push down on Freds's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Freds.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Freds wants to control but Joshua is having none of it. Freds is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Joshua landing punches. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! A nice elbow there by Joshua. Fred Freds has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Alex Joshua is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Joshua sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
And that's the end of the fight! Alex Joshua showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Joshua, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
