Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Anderton Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Earl Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones dodges the punch combination from Silva.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Jones bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Jones tries to move to mount but Silva blocks the move with his legs.
Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silva keeps working.
Silva is looking to regain half guard here but Jones keeps moving and retains side control.
Jones just content to control the position.
Jones tries to stand but Silva controls the position and pulls Jones into his guard.

Silva is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jones wants to clinch up but Silva keeps it at a distance.

Silva circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jones swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Silva counters by clinching up.

Jones is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. Silva gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

and Jones counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Silva is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Jones will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

James Earl Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Nice takedown defense from Silva. No joy for Jones on that attempt.
