And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryuji Nakamura!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Sano and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fukunishi closes the distance and clinches.
Nakamura fails to pull guard.

Fukunishi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Fukunishi bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Fukunishi trying to control the position but Nakamura is working away.
Nakamura tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Fukunishi easily slips into full mount!
Fukunishi content just to control the position here.
Nakamura wants to hold on but Fukunishi pushes him away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fukunishi controlling the pace for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fukunishi goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Nakamura turns into him and now he's in Fukunishi's guard.

Nakamura wants to control from the top but Fukunishi keeps moving.
Nakamura not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Fukunishi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nakamura can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Fukunishi has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Fukunishi keeping moving, preventing Nakamura from controlling successfully.

Fukunishi looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Nakamura wants to control from the top but Fukunishi keeps moving.
Fukunishi wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Nakamura manages to pass to side control.

Fukunishi is trying to maintain the position but Nakamura is very close to passing his half guard.
Fukunishi is refusing to be controlled, as Nakamura sits in half guard.

Fukunishi is looking for a sweep. Nakamura is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Fukunishi drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Nakamura manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Fukunishi working over Nakamura with some ground and pound. Nakamura looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Fukunishi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Fukunishi closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Nakamura did well to prevent Fukunishi getting side control.

Fukunishi lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Nakamura is still in real trouble! Can Fukunishi finish him?
Fukunishi is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Hideki Fukunishi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Fukunishi passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Nakamura!
Fukunishi tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Fukunishi drops a big elbow. That's hurt Nakamura! More shots from Fukunishi and the ref steps in! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hideki Fukunishi!
Post fight, Hideki Fukunishi stared into the camera and said 'どうも ! '.
