The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Sanders's half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sanders does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Sanders looks up at the clock and then as Johnson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Sanders smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
