Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Adler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anthony Davidson! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Leandro Rodrigues and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Adler dives in and grabs Davidson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Davidson pushes down on Adler's head and hops out. Adler wants to clinch up but Davidson keeps it at a distance. Davidson has a takedown stuffed. Adler shoots in but no luck this time. Davidson throws a head kick that misses. Davidson shoots in but Adler avoids the takedown attempt easily. Adler throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Davidson's waist but Davidson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Adler off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Adler. That's going to take a lot out of him. Davidson pushes Adler up against the cage in a clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Adler is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Davidson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Adler pulls his leg out and moves away.
Davidson goes for a double leg but Adler avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Adler continues to drive forward. Davidson looks to land a body kick but Adler moved away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davidson moves into the clinch. Davidson has Adler pressed against the cage, preventing Adler from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Davidson is working for takedown but Adler is calmly controlling the position for now. Davidson lands with a light punch inside. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Davidson as Adler tries to tie him up. Adler is trying to push Davidson away but Davidson has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Davidson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Davidson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Adler wants to control from the top but Davidson keeps moving. Adler tries to stand but Davidson is controlling from the bottom. Adler throws a strike but Davidson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Adler not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Davidson with a flurry of punches that miss. Adler looking for a sweep. Not yet Adler, not yet. Davidson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Adler is looking for a triangle here but Davidson uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Davidson in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Adler is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
