Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Colm Liddel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jefferson Steelflex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steelflex is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Dirty Hous'. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Colm Liddel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jefferson Steelflex! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Russell Pearce and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steelflex keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Liddel closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Liddel sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Steelflex is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Steelflex defending against the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Liddel tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Liddel has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Steelflex gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Steelflex wants to control but Liddel is keeping busy and won't allow it. The fighters are battling for position here. Steelflex manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Liddel preventing the sweep. Steelflex has his hands on Liddel's head, controlling the position. Liddel postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Steelflex is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Liddel, into his guard. Liddel is working an open guard so Steelflex takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Liddel gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Steelflex tries to free his leg and advance position but Liddel is retaining full guard. Liddel is breathing heavily. Steelflex passes into half guard. Liddel tries to roll over but Steelflex keeps him under control. Steelflex works his way into side control. Liddel is looking for a sweep. Steelflex controls the position. Steelflex's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Steelflex decides to stand back up. Steelflex steps back and let's Liddel get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steelflex throws a right hand that Liddel ducks under and follows up with a left that Liddel also avoids with ease. Liddel with a poor takedown and Steelflex counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Steelflex. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Steelflex slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Liddel throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Steelflex wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Liddel, who protects the arm well. Liddel gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Liddel throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Liddel is looking to improve his position but Steelflex isn't that keen on the idea. Steelflex blocks Liddel's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Steelflex controlling the position easily from mount. Steelflex with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Liddel tries to hold on but Steelflex postures up. Liddel really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Steelflex is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Liddel has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Liddel is working to get back to half guard.

Jefferson Steelflex dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Liddel shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Steelflex counters with a nice double leg into guard. Liddel is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Steelflex passes easily into side control. Nice work. Liddel is trying to improve his position. Steelflex controlling the position from side mount. Steelflex lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Steelflex trying to control the position but Liddel is working away. Jefferson Steelflex has got the better of the ground game so far. Steelflex advances to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Despite being in the dominant position, Jefferson Steelflex just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Steelflex bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Liddel tries to improve position but can't. Steelflex works to advance to full mount. Liddel defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Liddel can't escape the position.
Steelflex lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Liddel is trying to escape the mount.
Liddel tries to lock up and control but Steelflex gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Steelflex looking to secure an arm triangle but Liddel defends it well. Steelflex wants to control the pace but Liddel is squirming around nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Liddel keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Liddel throwing hammer fists to the chest of Steelflex. What's that going to do exactly? Steelflex sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Liddel tries to reverse the position but Steelflex maintains control. Steelflex tries to control but Liddel wriggling away. Steelflex content just to control the position here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Steelflex landing strikes from the mount and Liddel is in trouble! Steelflex has hold of Liddel's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Liddel manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Jefferson Steelflex showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Liddel doesn't succeed with the takedown and Steelflex holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Steelflex looking for a takedown. Steelflex landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Liddel gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Liddel throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Liddel is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Steelflex scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Liddel misses with a double jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steelflex instigates a clinch. Steelflex using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Steelflex pulls guard effortlessly. Liddel with a flurry of punches that miss. Steelflex looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Liddel distracts Steelflex with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Liddel with a flurry of punches that miss. Liddel drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Steelflex dives on top into guard. Liddel can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Steelflex controls the pace.

Steelflex is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Steelflex slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Steelflex passes easily into side control. Nice work. Liddel manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Liddel is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Liddel is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Steelflex pulls his head out easily. Liddel looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Steelflex pushes past his half guard into mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Liddel is in a horrible position here. Steelflex smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Liddel takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Steelflex blocks Liddel's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Liddel swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Steelflex takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Liddel really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Steelflex controlling from mount. Steelflex pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Jefferson Steelflex comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Steelflex has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
