Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Major Hicks (ranked 25704 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicolas Baumann (ranked 6409 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hicks shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hicks was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Baumann manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Baumann tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hicks defends well and Baumann ends up having to push Hicks into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Baumann shoots in looking for a takedown. Hicks tries to sprawl out of it but Baumann keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hicks manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Hicks looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.

Baumann drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hicks looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hicks looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hicks!
Hicks thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Hicks tries to roll over but Baumann keeps him under control.

Hicks knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Baumann on the ground.

Nicolas Baumann showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

I would just about give that final round to Nicolas Baumann.
