Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bernie Martin (ranked 8577 p4p, 0 weight class) and Noah Hensley (ranked 6387 p4p, 727 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Bernie Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Noah Hensley!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Richard Clark and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hensley has closed the distance and engaged Martin in a clinch.

Martin pulls guard.
Hensley trying to stand up but can't free himself from Martin's guard.
Martin keeping moving, preventing Hensley from controlling successfully.

Hensley gets to his feet - Martin follows without any prompting.
Martin shoots in but Hensley avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Hensley tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hensley closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Martin to the mat! Martin manages to get full guard.

Martin has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Hensley is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Martin.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Martin prevents Hensley from moving into mount.
Martin holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.
Martin tries to escape but Hensley is in control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Hensley advances to full mount.
Martin tries to hold on but Hensley postures up.

Hensley is trying to control here but Martin has managed to regain half guard.
Martin is refusing to be controlled, as Hensley sits in half guard.

Hensley content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Hensley frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Hensley is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Martin has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Martin!

Martin wanted to stand there but Hensley had control of the position.
Martin working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Martin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Martin lands a couple of digs.

Martin decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hensley, up you get!
Martin wants to clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hensley connects with a high kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Noah Hensley dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Martin fails with a takedown attempt.
Hensley buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Hensley moves into the clinch.
Hensley is working for takedown but Martin is calmly controlling the position for now.

Martin is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Hensley can't fight it off and eventually Martin manages to take the fight to the floor. Hensley looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Hensley is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hensley breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hensley shoots in looking for a takedown. Martin tries to sprawl out of it but Hensley keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Martin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Martin is looking for a counter combo.

Bernie Martin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Noah Hensley.
Hensley throws a head kick but Martin moves out of range.

Martin jumps guard but Hensley turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Hensley is trying to drag Martin to the mat but Martin just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Hensley breaks from the clinch.
Hensley displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Martin.
Hensley darts in looking for a takedown but Martin gets double underhooks and turns Hensley into the cage.
Martin shoots for a double leg takedown but Hensley sprawls well. He's pushed Martin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hensley is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
No luck for Hensley with that takedown attempt.
Martin throws a big counter combination but Hensley scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Martin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hensley as he jumps to the side.

Martin leaves Hensley with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Martin went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Martin shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hensley defends it nicely.

It looks like Bernie Martin has been cut.
Hensley stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hensley wants it to stay on the feet.

Hensley shoots in looking for a takedown but Martin manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hensley's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Hensley has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That kick from Hensley tenderised Martin's leg. Martin is trying to keep his angry face on.

Martin went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Hensley is breathing heavily.

and Martin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Hensley gets in close and instigates a clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Martin tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Noah Hensley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Bernie Martin's cut.
That's time! Martin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Noah Hensley seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Hensley tries for a takedown but Martin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Hensley manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Martin on his heels. He'll look to pass Martin's guard now, I'm sure.
Martin is looking to stand back up but Hensley counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Martin.
Hensley takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Martin tries to get to full guard but Hensley has control of the leg.
Hensley has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Hensley lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Hensley can't control as he wanted to and Martin manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Hensley is looking for a kimura but Martin is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hensley to get the leverage.
Hensley is just content to waste time from the top position. Martin takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Hensley throwing strikes but missing.

Martin working for a triangle but Hensley defends it easily.
Martin throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Hensley throws a strike but Martin rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Martin wants to get up but he can't break Hensley's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Hensley avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Hensley is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hensley is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Martin defends well.

Martin stands up from Hensley's guard - Martin perhaps looking for a knockout.

Hensley shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Martin but Martin pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Martin swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Bernie Martin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Noah Hensley.
Martin dives in for a single leg takedown but Hensley sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

and Martin counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Hensley fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Martin drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Hensley manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Noah Hensley comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hensley has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
