Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Chester (ranked 8059 p4p, 756 weight class) and Norman Pederson (ranked 4855 p4p, 588 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steve Chester!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Norman Pederson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Richard Clark and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pederson lands with a nice combination. Chester backs away looking to recover.

Chester has Pederson up against the cage in a clinch.
Chester tries to work over Pederson's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Pederson keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Chester's efforts to push away.
Chester tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Chester wants to break the clinch but can't.
Chester takes an elbow to the forehead.


It looks like Steve Chester has been cut.
A right hook to the body lands for Pederson.

Chester breaks the clinch.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Pederson.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chester leaves Pederson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Chester misses with a leg kick.

Pederson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Pederson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Chester closes the distance and clinches.
Chester misses with a body punch.
Pederson wants a takedown but no success here.
Pederson unloads a knee to the mid-section. Chester lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Chester breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Chester walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Chester swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Pederson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Chester makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Chester.

Pederson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Chester attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Pederson shoots in but no luck this time.
Steve Chester has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Norman Pederson.

Pederson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Chester tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Pederson is in Chester's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pederson trying to control the position from guard on top but Chester is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pederson distracts Chester with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pederson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Chester manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Good leg kick by Chester there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Pederson, right into the meat.

Pederson drives through and clinches with Chester against the cage.
Chester can't find room to land a body shot as Pederson controls the action.

Pederson gets control of Chester's arms and successfully pulls guard. Pederson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Chester accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Chester has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Chester throws a big elbow that misses.
Chester tries to free his leg and advance position but Pederson is retaining full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pederson pulls Chester in close to prevent any damage.
Pederson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Chester postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Pederson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chester gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Chester passes into half guard.

Chester is trying to work for a kimura but Pederson is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Chester throwing shots but Pederson is blocking nicely.
Chester uses his free foot to push down on Pederson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Pederson.
Pederson is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Pederson regains half guard.
Pederson avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Chester.
Chester landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
We've been hearing that Chester has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Chester missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Pederson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Norman Pederson will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Steve Chester's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Chester is trying to break the clinch but Pederson is controlling him.
Pederson scores a nice knee to the body.

Pederson is working Chester over against the cage.
Pederson comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
A nice left hand lands by Pederson.
Chester wants to break free but Pederson has control.
Pederson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Chester after a bit of a struggle.
Chester stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Pederson stalling against the cage.
Norman Pederson seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Chester tries to circle away but Pederson has him pinned against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Chester tries to break free but Pederson pushes him back against the cage.
Pederson tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Pederson lands a big knee to the head and Chester goes down! Pederson pounces and finishes the fight with strikes! He jumps to his feet and celebrates with the crowd!
