Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sammie Clay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gavin Mcinnes! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Clay. No joy for Mcinnes on that attempt. Clay swats away the attempt to clinch by Mcinnes. Clay gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Mcinnes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Mcinnes walks forward, straight into a front kick from Clay. Gavin Mcinnes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No luck with that takedown attempt from Mcinnes. As Mcinnes tries to get set, Clay tries to push him back and clinch up but Mcinnes manages to avoid the attempt. Mcinnes tries to close the distance and clinch but Clay swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Clay throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mcinnes tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Clay is in Mcinnes's guard. Clay might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Mcinnes not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Clay accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clay trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Clay with a nice head shot there. Mcinnes had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Clay defends it easily. Clay trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mcinnes is on top in guard.
Mcinnes wants to control from the top but Clay keeps moving. Mcinnes is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mcinnes tries to stand but Clay is controlling from the bottom. Clay knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mcinnes on the ground. Mcinnes wants to control from the top but Clay keeps moving. Mcinnes loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Clay can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mcinnes controls the pace. Mcinnes gets to his feet. Clay looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Clay turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Mcinnes tries to clinch up but Clay circles away and keeps his distance. Clay stuffs the takedown. Clay tries to counter by clinching up but Mcinnes breaks away and moves out of range. Sammie Clay has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gavin Mcinnes. Mcinnes shoots in looking for a takedown. Clay tries to sprawl out of it but Mcinnes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Clay manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Mcinnes has a takedown stuffed. Clay is looking to counter the offense by Mcinnes and move into the clinch. Mcinnes drives through with a takedown into guard. Mcinnes looks winded! Mcinnes stands and throws Clay's legs to the side, diving into side control. Clay tries to escape but Mcinnes is in control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Clay reaches up around Mcinnes's neck trying to control. But Mcinnes takes advantage instantly and he's locked on an arm triangle! Big trouble for Clay! Oh that looks nasty! A human being's head is not meant to turn that color! Clay is out! He's gone limp! The ref steps in to break the fighters up and Mcinnes celebrates the victory with the fans!
